    Iraqi Oil Ministry plans to boost exports

    (MENAFN) On Wednesday, the Iraqi oil minister emphasized that his country keen to boost Iraqi oil exports via setting up of integrated infrastructure.

    Thamir al-Ghadhban affirmed in a ministry statement, "The ministry is keen to develop the oil exports system through implementation of large projects for crude oil pipelines and the establishment of oil platforms, warehouses and integrated infrastructure for this purpose".

    On Tuesday, the Iraqi cabinet ratified two main ventures submitted by the oil ministry, one of which is to build an export oil pipeline with the ability of providing 1 million barrels per day (bpd) from the Rumaila oil field in the southern city of Basra to Jordan's Red Sea port of Aqaba.

    The second venture contains the establishment of an island with oil facilities with capability of 2 million bpd to ease the providing of crude to the giant oil tankers.
