Iran hits USD12b in petchem exports
(MENAFN) Iran exported USD12 billion worth of refined products that have been produced from crude to stand at over 22.5 tons.
Current refined products export volume amounted for a third of the Iranian production per year, as affirmed head of National Petrochemical Company of Iran (NPC), Behzad Mohammadi.
Speaking to the media, the chief noted that "some 56 petrochemical complexes are currently active in the country producing 66 million tons of various products."
Mohammadi further added that over 50 percent of Iranian petchem production acts as feed to refineries while rest goes for local sale or exports.
