    Sudan targets wages hike

    (MENAFN) Sudan was announced to have set a target to boost salaries, with the minimum wage currently standing at around USD9 to roughly cover 20 percent of living costs.

    In the middle of elevating inflation, fuel and the lack of bread as well as a serious public crisis, the living situation in Sudan is worsening.

    By the end of last year, the disbursement of salaries accounted for around USD1.3 billion, as showed the Ministry of Finance and Economic Planning in a performance report.

    Authorities are expected to commence a plan on "institutional reform and wage raise" in the middle of next year, as the ministry declared.
