    Externeal assets of Turkey reach USD233.8 billion in March

    The central bank of Turkey said on Thursday that the externam assets of the country have reached a total of USD233.8 billion at the end of March, representing a decline of 7.3 percent comapred the end of the previous year 2019.

    The liabilities against non-residents in Turjey also saw a decline of 9.2 percent set at a total of USD548.5 billion in the month.

    The bank said that "The net IIP [international investment position], defined as the difference between Turkey's external assets and liabilities, posted minus 314.7 billion at the end of March, in comparison to minus $351.9 billion observed at the end of 2019," the bank said.

    The NIIP markes the oversease assets value that is owned by a country, minus the domestic assets value that is owned by foreigners, it also includes the abroad assets and liabilities held owened by the country's government, private sector, and its citizens.
