    Eggs production in Iran flourishes

    (MENAFN) The head of Producers of Egg-Laying Hens Union, Reza Torkashvand, has announced that Iran exported 60,000 tons of eggs to the intended countries in the duration of the present Iranian Calendar year, which is from the 20th of March till the 21st of September, Iraq and Afghanistan being the main markets for the Iranian eggs, during that period, according to IRNA reports.

    Torkashvand stated: "With the current levels of production, it is possible to export about 100,000 tons of this product annually, but it must be done with management and in different seasons to maintain the domestic market stability." He had previously talked about the country's aviculture farms, and their anticipated level of exports being 80,000 tons of eggs in the present year, which ends on the 20th of March 2021.

    Reports also portray that 10.000 tons of eggs were exported to nearby countries in the duration from 20th of March till the 19th of April.

    Torkashvand added that Iranian eggs are presently being exported to Iraq, Afghanistan, Kuwait, and Qatar.

    When speaking of production of the eggs, he mentioned that the previous year, almost 1.1 million tons of eggs were produced in the country, and over 41,000 tons were exported to intended countries.

    Deputy Agriculture Minister, Morteza Rezaei, said that Iran is the 10th biggest egg producer in the world and the fifth in Asia.
