(MENAFN) Saudi Arabia is in its third stage of recommencing Umrah in spite of Covid-19 pandemic. Dr.Mohammed Saleh Benten, the Saudi Minister of Hajj and Umrah has stated that the Kingdom is welcoming all Muslims coming from all over the world to perform Umrah.

The kingdom has been attempting a three-stage program to gradually recommence the rituals, while also following all healthcare protocols, to guarantee the safety of worshippers, and delay any outbreak of the virus during the pilgrimage.

They have allowed citizens and inhabitants to commence performing Umrah since the 4th of October, at 30 percent capacity, which is the equivalent of 6,000 worshippers per day.But it will open its doors to all Muslims, local and international from the first of November.

Marking their success is the fact that since the beginning of the second stage on Sunday, October 18th, no infected cases were found amongst the people performing Umrah.

Benten claims that reopening their doors to outsiders will mark the world's biggest event in the midst of the pandemic.
