Iran’s Thermal power plants’ generation volume reaches 72,000 MW

(MENAFN) Iran’s thermal power plants’ electricity generation volume amounted to 72,000 megawatts (MW), a representative with the nation’s Thermal Power Plants Holding Firm (TPPH) declared.

Mohammad Ramezani, the acting chief of the nation’s ventures development department, also stated that private area accounts for 68 percent of the electricity produced by the thermal power plants.

Growing the nation’s power generation volume as well as stopping blackouts throughout the highest intake phases have been among the Energy Ministry’s main concern since the present government administration took office in August last year.

To this end, the ministry had put it on the program to rise the volume of thermal power plants by 5,300 MW by the ongoing Iranian calendar year’s summer time peak intake span of time (beginning on June 22).

Earlier in August last year, Energy Minister Ali-Akbar Mehrabian declared that his ministry was aiming to increase the nation’s power generation volume by 35,000 MW throughout the approaching four years.
