1. BBK contributes over BD 370,000 to the Bahraini community

In line with its strategy for a brighter future, BBK has contributed over BD 370,000 to the Bahraini community during the first half of the year 2009. Those contributions to various humanitarian initiatives and societies, included: American Mission Hospital, Sh. Ebrahim bin Mohammed Al Khalifa Centre for Culture & Research, Bahrain Centre for Studies & Research, Bahrain Down Syndrome Society, Bahrain Association for Mental Retardation, Public Commission for the Protection of Marine Resources, Environment and Wildlife, Bahrain Institute for Special Education, The Crown Prince's International Scholarship Fund, UCO Parent’s Care Centre, Hidd Rehabilitation Centre for Special Needs, Beit Al Qur’an, Bahrain Defense Force- Mohammed Bin Khalifa Bin Salman Al Khalifa Cardiac Centre, Al Rahma Centre for Youth Care, Muharraq Parent's Care Centre, Muharraq Social Welfare Society, The Saudi Bahraini Institute for the Blind, Zaka Fund, Bahrain Red Crescent Society, Al Baraka Society & Cerebral Palsy Friendship Society.

Mr. Abdulkarim Bucheery, BBK’s Chief Executive, received in the Headquarters, representatives of the respective societies who received BBK's contributions. Furthermore BBK's contribution is a token of the bank's ongoing social commitment to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its citizens.

BBK has been one of the major financial institutions in Bahrain providing ongoing contributions to different humanitarian causes and societies throughout the years. Supported entities included major clubs, charity funds and social initiatives. BBK contributions to different societies were to support them in achieving their goals and vision of a brighter future in the Kingdom.

2. BBK contributes over BD 200,000 to the Bahraini community

In line with its strategic initiatives for a brighter community, Bahrain’s pioneer in retail and commercial banking- BBK has contributed over BD 200,000 to the Bahraini community during the second half of the year 2009. The entities who have benefited from the Bank’s support to fulfill their various humanitarian initiatives, were: Bahrain Defence Force (Royal Medical Services), Bahrain Society for Children with behavioral & Communication Difficulties, Al Ehsan Welfare Society, Bahrain National Hereditary Anaemia Society, Bahrain Cancer Society, Injaz Bahrain, Bahrain Philanthropic Society, Bahrain Mobility International, Bahraini Society for Cochlear Implantation & Hearing Impairment, Writers & Literature Association, Al Kawther Society for Social Care, Children & Mothers Welfare Society, The Palm Association, Bahrain Institute for special education.

BBK's contribution is a token of the bank's ongoing social commitment to the Kingdom of Bahrain and its citizens and is proud to take an active part in the wellbeing of the community. Amongst the entities listed above, BBK has also supported major clubs, youth centers, charity funds and other social initiatives with the ultimate goal and vision of a brighter future.

3. Supporting by providing the necessary tools

BBK donated to the Saudi-Bahraini Institute for the Blind, a bus with a capacity of 24 passengers that costs BD 20,000. This was part of the many donations to the Institute, and to celebrate the occasion, the Institute’s management held a bus handover ceremonyattended by the CE of the Bank, A. Karim Bucheery and AGM, Mr.A. Hussein Bustani, and a number of the bank’s officials and the Chairman of the Institute Mr. Mohammed Bin Hussein Al Jowder and the Managing Director of the Institute, Abdul Wahid Al-Khayyat and members of the administrative, educational and students committees.

The inauguration ceremony was held on Tuesday, the 8th of December in the Institute’s Headquarters at Isa Town. The ceremony included a distinct singing passage performed by the students of the Institute. At the end of the program and to celebrate the International Day for the Disabled, on the 3rd of December every year, and the National Day, the Bank participates with the students
