    Turkish inflation jumps to 24.5 percent

    (MENAFN) Turkey was found to have recorded almost 25 percent surge in the rate of its annual inflation in September, while it suffers from a currency crisis.

    The Turkish Statistical Institute showed in its data the consumer index of the country to have witnessed a boost to stand at 24.5 percent.

    The figure drove a significant increase in comparison to the 17.9 percent registered in August and the 11.2 percent posted in September 2017.

    According to the data, Turkey's inflation saw a rapid increase to hit 6.3 percent in comparison to the previous month.

    Producer prices in the country were also unveiled in data to have posted a 46.2 percent jump on an annual basis.

    In a note to investors, financial analyst Enver Erkan stated: "this trend in consumer prices is likely to continue in the coming months."
