    42.5 percent plunge in Turkish foreign trade deficit

    (MENAFN) On Wednesday, the Turkish Statistical Institute (TurkStat) revealed a significant 42.5 percent decline in the country's foreign trade deficit for the sixth month of the year.

    In June, as the statistics institute unveiled, Turkey stood at USD3.17 billion in its foreign trade deficit compared to the USD5.5 billion in registered during the same period last year.

    Turkish exports also plunged by 14.3 percent to reach USD11.08 billion with imports posting a 22.7 percent fall at USD14.26 billion, TurkStat showed.

    TurkStat further added that during the period, the exports-to-imports coverage ratio increased to hit 84.9 percent compared to last year's 66.8 percent during the same period.
