    Arab countries import $9.3m fruits from Brazil in 2009

    (MENAFN) The President of Apex-Brasil stated that Brazil has exported fresh fruits worth $9.31 million to the Arab region in 2009, representing an 8.4 percent increase over 2008 trade, Gulf News reported. Brazil, the third largest producer of fruit in the world, harvests around 43 million tons of the commodity yearly, according to economic reports. Brazil's main Arab importers include Lebanon, the UAE, Saudi Arabia and Algeria. Grapes, melons, apples and mangoes accounted for most of Brazil's fruit shipments to the Middle East in 2009.
