Abu Dhabi eyes 10% tourism increase in 2010

(MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) said that it is targeting a 10 percent tourism increase by the end of this year, and is also considering the prospect of a cruise terminal, Reuters reported. Chairman of ADTA, Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al-Nahyan, said that the authority is targeting tourism contribution to gross domestic product (GDP) of 8-10 percent by 2030. Al-Nahyan also said that Tourism Development Investment Company (TDIC), which is the company overseeing many of the emirate's tourism developments, had sufficient liquidity to finance its future projects and was not considering any bonds issuances. Sheikh Sultan said discussions were ongoing with consultants for a cruise terminal in Abu Dhabi, but did not disclose further details about the project.
