    Sudan gets $120m loan from IDB

    (MENAFN) A senior executive at the Islamic Development Bank (IDB) said that the Jeddah-based lender has signed a loan agreement worth $120 million with the Sudanese government, Kuna reported. Bajnid told a press conference that the agreement was signed as a prelude to referring it to the IDB board of directors for final approval. For his part, the Sudanese Undersecretary of the Ministry of Finance hailed the IDB's role in national development in Sudan, especially major projects. He also thanked the bank for its technical and financial support for his country. The new Sudanese airport will cost a total of $1.8 billion. It includes three phases, with the first phase costing $1.16 billion. Situated 40 kilometers from central Khartoum, the airport can receive 7.4 million passengers per annum when completed.
