    Bahrain starts clean diesel shipments

(MENAFN) Bahrain's Minister of Oil and Gas Affairs, Abdul-Hussain bin Ali Mirza, hailed the country's first clean diesel shipment of ultra-low sulphur diesel of less than 10 parts per million (ppm), Reuters reported. The minister pointed out that the cost of the project was $725 million. He said that besides being a technical and environmental success for the country, the project has provided financial returns in excess of 25 percent. Mirza added that Bahrain will inaugurate by the end of May a $150 million gas desulphurization project, saying that this project removes the emissions from refining to meet standards set in California, which is the most environmentally sensitive location in the world. The minister said that Bahrain has earmarked $1.2 billion to produce high value-added environmentally friendly oil products.
