    Algeria resumes barley exports after 4 decades

    (MENAFN) Bloomberg reported that Algeria, one of the world?s biggest grain importers, has exported its first barley shipment in more than four decades. A French trader bought 10,000 metric tons for the Tunisian grain agency, paying $140 per ton, said Noureddine Kehal, general manager of the Algerian Cereals Office. Algeria has become a barley exporter thanks to a strong harvest last year, which reached a record 6.1 million tons of cereals, including 2.4 million tons of barley.
