    Sudan oil revenues reach $1.6b in H1

    (MENAFN) The Petroleum Department of Sudan's southern government said that Sudanese oil revenues have increased in the first half of this year to $1.6 billion, Kuna reported. Sudanese oil output rose to 39.3 million barrels in the January-June period, a jump of 74.8 percent when compared with same period of last year when it reached 22.4 million barrels. The central government's share of revenues accumulated to $901.7 million, while the southern government share reached $724.5 million. Sudan began producing oil in 1998, with a daily 150,000 barrels, which currently increased to half a million a day.
