    Tunisia gets $256m loan for electricity project

    (MENAFN) The European Investment Bank (EIB), the European Union's financing arm, will provide a $256 million loan to Tunisia for an electricity project, it said on Tuesday. The bank said in a statement that the funds will be used to erect 660 kilometers (410 miles) of high-tension lines. Tunisia, which has one of the most open economies in north Africa and close economic ties to Europe, has received $3.6 billion in loans and aid from the European Investment Bank over the last three decades.
