Aigle Azur to launch Baghdad-Paris flights

(MENAFN) French airline Aigle Azur announced the inauguration October 30 of its direct-flight services from Paris to Baghdad, mainly to transport business leaders to the Iraqi capital. Aigle Azur, which is Frances third-largest carrier, will make the inaugural flight to coincide with the Baghdad Fair, which runs from November 1-10. The airline will later provide a twice-weekly service from Paris Charles de Gaulle airport to Baghdad, but may increase this service depending on results. The airline will be using Airbus A319 aircraft for the Paris-Baghdad link and each flight will be in two classes with total capacity of around 130 passengers. Frances leading airline, Air France, has still not resumed services to Baghdad after cutting the link 20 years ago after the Iraqi invasion of Kuwait, although it has been discussing it.
