    Jordan's budget deficit falls 44.5% by August-end

(MENAFN) Jordans Ministry of Finance said that the kingdom's budget deficit decreased by 44.5 percent in the first eight months of 2010, as a result of an increase in domestic revenues and foreign aid, Petra reported. In its latest monthly bulletin, the ministry reported that between January and August the kingdoms deficit amounted to $602.96 million, compared to $1.067 billion in the same period last year. The healthier outlook for the states finances was attributed to a 6.8 percent increase in domestic revenues and foreign aid, which rose to $4.425 billion. Foreign aid into the country more than doubled to $350.38 million), up from $144.75 million in 2009, according to the report.
