    Abu Dhabi hotel guests rise 16% by September-end

    (MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA) registered a 16 percent increase in the number of hotel guest nights, during the first three quarters of 2010, with a total of 3,596,388 guests, as opposed to 1,326,463 guest nights in the same quarters of 2009, Gulf News reported. In September alone, there was a 26 percent growth in guest nights, compared to the 25 percent registered in the same period of the previous year, reaches 396,726 guest nights in September alone. The mentioned rise comes as a result of the timing of the Eid holidays, explained Lawrence Franklin, ADTA Strategy and Policy Director. By the end of September, food and beverage revenues have become an important factor, whereas they have grown by 15 percent, and account for 37 percent of total revenues compared to 33 percent in the same period in 2009. It is worth mentioning that the UK retains the overseas market top slot with a 50 percent growth totaling 83,239 guests.
