    Algeria, Iran to boost economic cooperation

    (MENAFN) Iran and Algeria hoped the economic cooperation between the two countries could be further expanded, Iranian satellite Press TV reported. The two countries enjoy great potentials to expand their bilateral economic ties, Iranian First Vice President Mohammad Reza Rahimi said at a meeting with the visiting Algerian Prime Minister Ahmed Ouyahia. Rahimi said the volume of trade transactions between the two countries is not very high, but expressed his hope that the current meeting would help strengthen the bilateral economic relations, said Press TV. For his part, Ouyahia said Algeria wants to expand economic cooperation with Iran and is interested in making use of Iran's expertise in science, technology, and economic affairs, according to the report. The Algerian prime minister also held a meeting with Iranian Foreign Minister Manouchehr Mottaki on Sunday and is scheduled to meet with President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad.
