    Emirates airline, Rolls Royce sign $1.2b contract

    (MENAFN) Shaikh Ahmad Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and Chief Executive of Emirates airline and Group, announced that the Dubai-based carrier has signed a $1.2 billion deal with Rolls-Royce, to provide the airline with contract engine services, TotalCare, Gulf News reported. Rolls-Royce will provide TotalCare long term service support for a total of 50 of Emirates� 152 wide-bodied aircraft; Trent 700 engines, powering 29 Airbus A330 aircraft and Trent 800 engines, powering 21 Boeing 777 aircraft. TotalCare long-term service agreements, used on 90 per cent of Trent engines, are designed to minimize customer financial risk and enhance operational performance and reliability, explained Shaikh Ahmad. It is worth noting that with a fleet of 152 modern, wide-bodied aircraft, Emirates Airlines currently flies to 108 destinations in 65 countries from its international hub of Dubai.
