    UAE suspends air operations of 5 carries

    (MENAFN) The UAE General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) has decided to suspend the air operations of certain foreign aircrafts in UAE for noncompliance with the applicable safety and security standards, WAM reported. Under the decision, five air operators have been suspended to operate in the UAE during November 2010; a DC8-63F aircraft was suspended from operating in the UAE for undertaking maintenance at a UAE airport without obtaining a license from GCAA, a DC-9 aircraft was suspended from operating in the UAE space pursuant to a report by GCAA inspectors in respect of safety and security, and a B-747-200 was suspended for violating the air instructions applicable in the UAE. It is noteworthy that the Emirati GCAA announced a total of 19 operators suspended in 2010.
