PetroRabigh plans to shutdown for maintenance

(MENAFN) Saudi-based PetroRabigh, the joint venture between Japan's Sumitomo Chemical and State oil giant Saudi Aramco, stated that it shall conduct scheduled maintenance work at its refining and petrochemicals complex in April, Trade Arabia reported. According to PetroRabigh, the 400,000 barrels per day (bpd) refinery which can produce 18 million tons of refined products annually, would be shut for maintenance from late April to the end of May. However, it remains unclear as to when the complex would be back in operation. As a result of the shutdown at Rabigh refinery and another refinery in Jubail, Aramco would reduce naphtha supplies by at least 580,000 tons in the first half of 2011.
