    Lebanon's creative industries account for 4.5 % of GDP

    (MENAFN) The United Nations Conference on Trade and Development (UNCTAD) published a report which revealed that creative industries account for 4.75 percent of Lebanon's gross domestic product (GDP), The Daily Star reported. The UNCTAD report defines creative industries as the cycles of creation, production and distribution of goods and services that use creativity and intellectual capital as primary inputs, whereas Lebanon came in first in the Middle East and North Africa region (MENA), ahead of countries such as Jordan Syria, and the UAE. Globally, Lebanon was among the top 10 countries in terms of the contribution of creative industry to GDP, coming in eighth place, while the US ranked first with 11.12 percent, the report showed.
