Spatial Composite Solutions wins deal in US

(MENAFN) Joseph McKeever, Spatial Composite Solutions (SCS) Chief Executive, said that the UAE based company signed a deal with Virgin America for exporting aircraft mock-ups to the United States for the first time, reported The National. The CEO added that this was SCS's first contract outside the Gulf region. The aircraft mock-ups are used to train airline staff and include business and economy seats and all the original equipment found on aircraft to simulate the real experience, such as power supply units, galleys, overhead stowage bins and wing exits. The CEO said that one mock-up can cost up to a million dollar and mock-ups designed for evacuation training often cost around two millions. The CEO said that SCS would provide Virgin America with the A320 installation at their new crew training academy in San Francisco. This would be a cheaper alternative for flight training as it is more expensive to withdraw operating aircraft from revenue-generating flight operations to accommodate training. It is worth noting that SCS already provided mock-ups Emirates Airline, Etihad Airways and Oman Air. SCS factories are in Jebel Ali Free Zone and the company is seeking further expansion in the UAE.
