Rolls Royce 2010 sales soar 100% in ME

(MENAFN) Torsten Muller-Otvos, Chief Executive Officer at Rolls Royce, announced that during 2010, its annual car sales in the Middle East (ME) region soared 100 percent, amid a rebound in the luxury car market, Arabian Business reported. According to the CEO, the ME region comprised 15 to 20 percent of the 2,711 cars sold globally by the British automaker within the last year. However, the US remained its top-selling market worldwide. Growth for 2010 was driven by sales of the brand's new model, the Rolls Royce Ghost. More than 80 percent of Ghost buyers had never previously owned a Rolls Royce, Muller-Otvos clarified. Furthermore, after the Abu Dhabi market, the luxury carmaker forecasts considerable growth in Qatar over the next few years, due to the soccer championships to be held in 2022.
