    SCTA inks USD88.8m worth deals

    (MENAFN) The Saudi Commission for Tourism and Antiquities (SCTA)'s Director of contracts and purchases, Ahmad Al-Shehri, said that SCTA inked USD88.8 million worth deals in 2010 in an attempt to enhance the Saudi tourism industry, reported Arab News. Al-Shehri said that the agreements include building 5 new museums which would be located in Dammam, Asir, Tabuk and Baha. Also, the deals include renovating of culturally significant sites such as Tabuk Fort and Abar Hima ancient rock inscriptions in the south of Najran. According to Al-Shehri, SCTA also signed consultancy contracts in order to assess and collect data and research about the country's tourism assets along with developing strategies for investment in the sector.
