    Sales of Dubai airport freezone up 23%

    (MENAFN) The Dubai Airport Freezone Authority said that it witnessed a 23 percent rise in annual sales in 2010, reported Gulf News. The good results were achieved with help of 102 new companies and expansion by existing companies in the freezone. The Freezone Authority said that 28 percent of the new companies established in 2010 are from Europe, 27 percent from the Middle East, 21 percent from Asia and the rest from the US, Japan and other countries. The authority added that aviation companies account for 14 percent of the firms in the freezone followed by electronics with 11 percent, followed by engineering, computer, cargo advisory services and consultancy companies. It is worth noting that the activities of the freezone include trade which represents 68 percent and services sector representing 32 percent.
