    Guests at Abu Dhabi's hotels up 5% in Jan

    (MENAFN) The Strategy and Policy Director at the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), Lawrence Franklin, said that hotels in Abu Dhabi saw a 5 percent increase in guests amounting to 153,874 in January 2011, compared with the same month of 2010, reported Gulf News. According to ADTA, guest nights at Abu Dhabi's 115 hotels and hotel apartments increased 22 percent to 476,502 and occupancy levels were up 9 points to 66 percent. Also, the average length of stay climbed to 3.10 nights from 2.68, compared with January 2010. Franklin added that European hotel guests rose 13 percent over 2010. Guests from Germany, the UK and Italy accounted for 26 percent of the increase. Saudi guests also increased by 15 percent to about 2,695 guests.
