    Qatar, Singapore trade up 12% in 2010

    (MENAFN) Director of the Doha office of the Authority for Singapore Global Projects, Kenneth Seam, said that Qatar and Singapore total bilateral trade went up by twelve percent, hitting USD6 billion in 2010, compared to USD5.5 billion in 2009, reported The Peninsula. Seam said that as ties grew between the two countries Qatar became the third Gulf country in terms of trading with Singapore, and ranked the 21st on a global level. Seam said that some of the projects that Singaporean SMEs and large companies work on include projects of New Doha International Airport and Customs Authority and some future projects with Qatar Foundation that include etsblishing libraries and installing system school operations. Seam added that Singaporean companies would bid for projects needed for the 2022 World Cup such as the development of stadiums, cooling units and the port, metro and railway system to be built in Qatar.
