Saudis at STC protest for better wages

(MENAFN) Reuters reported that over a hundred men in Saudi Arabia who work for state-run Saudi Telecom (STC) protested in Riyadh demanding a modification in contract terms including an increase in wages. A protestor stated that the protesters demand a fifteen percent increase in salaries, the same amount that King Abdullah had granted government employees after he returned from a medical leave in February. In addition, protestors are demanding fair bonuses. Protestors are also protesting against being outsourced to foreign companies. Mohammed Al Farag, director of media affairs at STC, said that the company asked protestors to submit their demands in writing. When asked about the volume of the protest, Al Farag said that it was being exaggerated by media and that work was not affected by them.
