Saudi Arabia, China discuss nuclear collaboration

(MENAFN) Saudi president of the King Abdullah City for Nuclear and Renewable Energy, Hashim Yamani, said that the city is in talks with Chinese officials for a collaboration agreement for on long-term energy projects, reported Arabian Business. Yamani said that the negotiations could enable the country to develop power stations as alternative energy sources to produce electricity and water. Yamani added that the country had already signed a nuclear treaty with France, marking the Kingdom's first nuclear deal. It is worth noting that Saudi Arabia is trying to diversify away from its current exclusive fossil fuel-based energy.
