Brazil's coffee exports to MENA up 44%

(MENAFN) The Brazilian Coffee Exporter Council (Cecafe) revealed that over USD20 million were generated from exports of coffee to Arab countries, thus registering a 44 percent year-on-year increase, reported Arabian Business. The council also stated that coffee shipments amounted to 6,582,000 kilograms of coffee, which is five percent more than shipments reported in March 2009. The council cited the increase in exports and their revenues to the competitive edge of Brazilian coffee against high prices of coffee in international markets. It is worth noting that the main importers of Brazilian coffee in the Arab region are Lebanon, Syria, Saudi Arabia and Tunisia.
