    US considers debt relief for Egypt

    (MENAFN) US State Department spokesman, Mark Toner, said that in order to aid the Egyptian economy recover from the results of the revolution that brought down president Hosni Mubarak, the US government would consider debt relief among various options, reported Saudi Gazette. Toner added that the US would think of the best way to help Egypt, and the US officials would resume consultations until they would reach the appropriate decision that suits the Egyptian part. He also said that following the political upheaval in Egypt, the country encountered extraordinary challenges and the States would think of any solution to help Egyptians overcome them. It is worth noting that Egyptian Finance Minister Samir Redwan during a tour to Gulf Countries last month said that Egypt was talking to the International Monetary Fund and the World Bank to secure USD6 billion loans.
