    Samsung opens USD100m Jubail training complex

    (MENAFN) Samsung Engineering President and CEO, Park Ki-Seok, said that in order to enhance the company's Saudization efforts, it opened the USD100 million high tech Naffora training complex in Jubail, reported Arab News. Ki-Seok added that Samsung Saudi Arabia established, developed and constructed the 50,000 square meter engineering centre, adding that the company also completed twenty four lump sum, turnkey construction projects with a total value of more than USD10 billion for leading Saudi companies like Saudi Aramco, Saudi Basic Industries Corp. (SABIC) and Maaden. He also said that the centre would serve as recruitment, education and training hub for Saudi engineers, it would include dormitories, dining facilities and a sports center that would have basketball courts, swimming pool and bowling alleys. In addition, a safety training centre would teach employees international safety standards required in the construction trades, also the complex would allow the company to upgrade regional safety standards, training and education for transfer of high technology and global project managerial skills. It is worth noting that Samsung Engineering Co. Ltd was founded in 1970, it is the first and largest South Korean engineering, procurement and construction contractor for hydrocarbon, industrial and infrastructure plants or facilities. It has 6,000 employees worldwide and entered the Saudi market twelve years ago.
