    Flydubai to recruit 600 pilots

(MENAFN) Flydubai's CEO, Ghaith Al Ghaith, said that in order for the carrier to meet the requirements of its expanding fleet and to serve its growing route network, over the coming five years, the Dubai based airline would hire 600 pilots, reported Emirates 24/7. Al Ghaith added that for the carrier to run each of the fifty Boeing aircraft that were ordered three years ago, to the existing 200 pilots, it would recruit additional fourteen pilots, seven captains and seven first officers. He also said that captains should have at least 5,000 hours, including 1,500 in command of modern (EFIS) multi crew, multi engine jet aircraft of more than 55 tones operating weight, whereas applicants for the first officer occupation should have a minimum of 2,500 hours, 1,000 of which must have been gained in multi crew, multi engine aircraft, fitted with modern electronic flight instrumentation systems (EFIS) with more than ten tones operating weight. It is worth noting that flydubai also implemented an in house captain upgrade plan in order to support its external recruitment. First officers must have been working with the company for at least one year and recorded 4,000 flying hours, with 1,000 of those in a Boeing 737, including 500 at flydubai.
