Airbus changes jet specs for Gulf carriers

(MENAFN) Chief operating officer for Airbus, Fabrice Bregier, said that the aircraft maker is responding to requests by Gulf airlines to conduct changes to the A350-1000 jet, a move that would delay the delivery of crafts for two years, reported Arabian Business. As Gulf carriers have orders that accumulate to 65 jets, the France-based company complied with the change requests that requires the aircraft's design to enable it to fly further and carry heavier loads. Bregier said that the two-year delay would be utilized for developing an engine with more thrust. The jet's engine is developed by Rolls Royce. It is worth noting that the orders of Gulf carriers of the 65 jets in addition to other regional orders amount to USD20 billion.
