Saudi women campaign against 'driving ban' to car makers

(MENAFN) Saudi Women for Driving campaign said that it asked Fuji Heavy Industries to withdraw its Subaru cars from the Kingdom as a result of the prohibition on women's driving, reported Arabian Business. The group said that Subaru had a wide market in the Kingdom; it delivered its units to women, in addition, it would be a great chance for the car maker to live up to its brand and make a huge difference for around thirteen 13 million Saudi women. On the other hand, this month, US Secretary of State, Hillary Clinton, said that she supported Saudi women's right to drive, calling those who challenged the ban and drove in the streets of the country brave women. It is worth noting that the campaign caps a number of developments that began last month, when Saudi women used the Facebook and Twitter social networking websites to ask females with international driver's licenses to use their cars this June.
