    Abu Dhabi Intl Airport's July passenger traffic up 13.3%

    (MENAFN) Abu Dhabi Airports Company's (ADAC) COO, Ahmad Al Haddabi, said that since new carriers launched their services into the emirate and travelers took their holidays before the month of Ramadan, in July, the number of passengers passing through Abu Dhabi International Airport grew by 13.3 percent from 2010 to 1.2 million, reported The National. Al Haddabi added that another factor contributed to the increase in the number of passengers which was the strong flow of transit traffic passing through the airport in the month. He also said that in the month, aircraft movements increased by 3.1 percent reaching 9,700 movements, moreover, the main five routes from the airport were London, Doha, Bangkok, Jeddah, and Manila, combined accounting for 20 percent of total passenger traffic. It is worth noting that according to the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), the number of guests from GCC states staying in Abu Dhabi's hotels in July surged by 98 percent from 2010's same month reaching 19,828 guests.
