France's Alstom wins deals to reduce carbon emissions

(MENAFN) Alstom, the French power and transport engineering group, said that the company was awarded USD322 million contracts in order to reduce emissions from coal-fired power factories, reported Arab News. The leading supplier of Air Quality Control Systems (AQCS) added that the contracts were from Saudi Arabia, Taiwan and the US. The company also said that its Alstom-Cerrey SA de CV consortium won the contract to supply boilers and air quality control equipment for the Ras Tanura Integrated project in Saudi Arabia. It is worth noting that Cerrey SA de CV will be responsible for the design, fabrication and delivery of 6x80 MW oil and gas-fired boilers, whereas Alstom will be responsible for the AQCS system, which consists of a Selective Catalyst Reducer and Alstom's patented NID flue gas desulphurization system for each boiler.
