Qatar's Laffan condensate refinery resumes operations

(MENAFN) Qatargas spokeswoman said that the Laffan condensate refinery resumed its operations following a shutdown, reported Gulf Daily News. The spokeswoman, who didn't say whether the refinery would be able to meet its commitments during the shutdown, added that the refinery's output capacity was 146,000 barrels per day (bpd) before its closure. She also said that Qatargas would shut down a number of trains that produced liquefied natural gas (LNG) between mid-September and early November for maintenance operations. It is worth noting that Laffan condensate refinery started output operations in September 2009. It can produce 61,000 bpd of naphtha, 52,000 bpd of kero jet, 24,000 bpd of gas oil and 9,000 bpd of liquefied petroleum gas when fully operational.
