UAE's Etihad Airways to hire additional 100 Irish staff

(MENAFN) Etihad Airways' chief executive, James Hogan, said that in a move that would enhance Ireland's economy, the UAE's carrier would employ additional 100 Irish cabin crew, reported The National. Hogan added that the carrier launched its services to Dublin four years ago with 10 flights a week from the city to the Middle East, making Etihad Airways the only carrier that operated direct flights from Dublin to the region. He also said that during the four years period, the UAE's company invested more than USD21 million in the country, moreover, Etihad Airways also invested in sponsorship in the Gaelic sport of hurling. It is worth noting that Ireland's unemployment rate stands at around 14 percent, where hiring is limited by slashed government spending and a weak private sector.
