    Tourism arrivals in ME to increase notably by 2030

    (MENAFN) The UN World Tourism Organization (UNWTO) said that by 2030, tourism arrivals in the Middle East would rise to represent 8 percent of all international travel, compared with 6 percent in 2010, reported The National. The organization added that last year, around 60.9 million arrivals came to the region, whereas the number would be forecasted to reach 149 million in 2030. It also said that over the next 20 years, arrivals rate on a global basis, would increase 3.3 percent each year compared with an average of 3.9 percent between 1995 and 2010, on the other hand, the growth rate in the region would slow to 4.6 percent annually from 10.5 percent. It is worth noting that over the next two decades, tourism arrivals globally are forecasted to almost double to 1.8 billion a year.
