Yemen LNG stops gas output on pipeline explosion

(MENAFN) Yemen LNG said that since fighting in the country escalated, unidentified people attacked and exploded a gas pipeline which resulted in stopping production, reported Gulf News. The LNG exporter added that the pipeline was used to transfer fuel from a field to the Balhaf processing plant, on the other hand, the company planned to shut down the liquefied natural gas (LNG) plant this month for maintenance operations. It also said that in 2010, the country produced 260,000 barrels a day of crude compared with an estimated 286,000 barrels in the previous year. It is worth noting that since protests in Yemen began this year, attacks on pipelines in the country disrupted exports and resulted in power shortages across Yemen.
