Egypt resumes gas exports to Jordan

(MENAFN) Egypt's state-owned EGAS' Chairman, Hassan Al-Mahdy, said that the country resumed its gas exports to the kingdom of Jordan, following the disruption that resulted from an attack on the gas pipeline that transfers gas to the country, reported Arab News. On the other hand, Petroleum Minister Abdullah Ghorab said that Egypt raised the price it used to charge Jordan for gas more than a double from USD2.15 to USD2.30 per million BTU to more than USD5 per million BTU. Ghorab added that Egypt's Cabinet agreed to increase the price of gas exports to Jordan following an agreement signed between the two countries' governments. It is worth noting that the new gas price was for pumping the same quantity of gas as before the disruption, not for any extra quantities.
