    Omantel's Jan-Sep net profit down to USD214m

    (MENAFN) Oman Telecommunications' (Omantel) chief executive, Amer Awadh Al Rawas, said that during the January-September period, the company's net profit declined to USD214 million, compared with USD214.9 million in 2010's same period, reported Times of Oman. On the other hand, Al Rawas added that during the third quarter, net profit surged by 25 percent reaching USD72.5 million, compared with USD58 million in the same quarter a year ago. He also said that the firm's market share regarding fixed network was at 95 percent, whereas the company's mobile network's market share jumped to 57.3 percent, moreover, revenues of Omantel's both fixed and mobile segments rose 8 percent from 2010. It is worth noting that total customer base during the period grew 4.1 percent reaching 3.437 million subscribers.
