Saudi firms with low local workforce to be punished next month

(MENAFN) Saudi labor ministry said that starting December, the ministry would start punishing Saudi firms that didn't increase the number of Saudi employees, reported Emirates 24/7. The ministry added that the companies which would be affected would be those who were rated as red, whereas firms that were rated as yellow would be punished when their deadline would expire and that would be in February. The ministry added that the government would give four different categories to companies in Saudi according to their obedience to regulations to hire Saudis, adding that firms that would conform with the government's rules would be rated as excellent and green whereas firms that would fail to conform with the rules would be in the red category and rated as yellow. It is worth noting that the Saudi labor ministry warned the 300,000 firms covered in the plan that it would not accept any attempt from these companies to get around the rules through offering Saudi nationals jobs with low salaries in order to discourage them from accepting work.
