    Abu Dhabi's Nov consumer prices up 0.6%

    (MENAFN) Statistics Centre Abu Dhabi (SCAD) said that last month, average consumer prices in the emirate rose 0.6 percent over 2010's same period, driven by higher prices in restaurants and hotels, reported Gulf News. The centre added that prices of the restaurants and hotels group recorded an increase of 8 percent, followed by alcoholic beverages and tobacco, with a rise of 7.4 percent, whereas food and non-alcoholic beverages went up 4.5 percent. SCAD also said that during the January-November period, average consumer prices rose 1.9 percent, compared with last year's same period, with food and non-alcoholic beverages group accounting for 66 percent in the increase. It is worth noting that in November, prices of the clothing and footwear group dropped 11.3 percent over 2010's same period.
