Saudi to provide Yemen with oil

(MENAFN) A Saudi official said that in order to help end Yemen's fuel shortage crisis, King Abdullah decided to donate enough amount of crude oil to the country, reported Xinhua News. The official added that in June, the Kingdom donated 3 million barrels of crude oil to its southern neighbor to lessen the country's suffering from oil shortage that resulted from months of protests. He also said that the decision was made during a telephone conversation between Saudi Foreign Minister, Saud al-Faisal, and Yemeni Vice President, Abd-Rabbu Mansour Hadi. It is worth noting that in an attempt to end the political crisis, Yemen's president Saleh's party, General People's Congress, and the opposition Joint Meeting Parties signed the power-transfer initiative in the Saudi capital of Riyadh, under which early presidential elections in Yemen will be held in February in 2012.
